Day, canoe trip on the Leyre (21 km-from 10:00 to 17:00-from 17 €/pers.)

45 minutes from Bordeaux and 30 minutes from the Arcachon basin and Biscarrosse, come and enjoy a day's canoeing on the Leyre.    

Sail on the Grande Leyre, which will become the Eyre after the confluence of the two Leyre rivers (at l'hourc d'Eyre), and discover the gallery forest and its biodiversity along these 20 km by canoe or kayak (for a navigation time of around 5h30).  

From August 1, 2023, you'll be able to order a pizza made in Saugnac by Triple Rock Pizza, plus a drink, for a supplement of €10 for a pizza and a drink.  All this can be delivered to you, on the banks of the Leyre, at the Saugnac bridge (1h45-2h sailing time from your departure point). You can choose the "pizza" option when booking. All products used are fresh.

During the course, you'll have to steer clear of natural obstacles, and you'll be immersed in a wilderness with very little human impact. 

Departing from Moustey, a town in the Landes region of France, you'll find yourself in the midst of lush, green countryside. You'll start out on the Grande Leyre, before discovering the confluence with the Petite Leyre after a few kilometers. You'll then be on the Leyre.

You can picnic wherever you like, in the quiet shade of an oak or alder, or in the sun on the sand. (The Saugnac bridge, 1h30 from the start, has a large beach and is the best place to put your canoe and picnic on the banks of the Leyre). 

This green interlude will give you a chance to recharge your batteries, before arriving in Belin-Beliet, the end of the adventure.

- Pick-up: signing of contracts, any payments, allocation of equipment (including a watertight can to hold your picnic), etc. 

- Shuttle: depending on the number of participants, either you leave your vehicle with us and we pick you up on the banks of the Leyre at the Mesplet bridge in Belin-Béliet and take you to the starting point (Moustey bridge), or you follow us to the starting point and we return the drivers to the vehicles after the activity. 

- Briefing: 10 to 25 minutes depending on your level and knowledge of the environment.  

Topics covered: positions on the boat, use of the paddle, steering techniques, safety rules and respect for the environment, information on places of interest on the banks of the Leyre and the landing site. 

- Descent: You'll embark at the Moustey bridge for a canoe or kayak descent on the Grande Leyre at the start, before reaching the "hourc d'Eyre", which is the confluence of the Grande and Petite Leyre to form the Eyre. The total distance is 20 km. In your canoe or kayak, you'll reach the Saugnac bridge after 6 km from the start (picnic area recommended). Then 11 km of untouched navigation await you. You'll be immersed in the lush greenery of the Leyre and its gallery forest. Only the Passage bridge, at the 11th km after the Saugnac bridge, will tell you that you're only 3 km from the finish. 

- Arrival: At the Mesplet bridge, you disembark on the left bank and, after a short rinse, we load the boats onto the trailers. Depending on the situation, we'll either take the drivers back to the cars while you enjoy the sandy beach on the right bank, or your vehicles will already be there.

- The boat (canoe or kayak)

- 1 water-tight tin can,

- 1 flotation aid vest (which is obligatory),

- double or single paddles to choose from,

- briefing of the course and safety rules before departure,

- explanation of mania Of the boat at the place of departure,

- Transport back or forth.

Safety :

- Know how to swim and be more than 6 years old (there are no exceptions, even for children accompanied by their parents) according to the Order of 4 May 1995

- Keep the feet of closed footwear for the duration of the descent,

- keep your vest Rescue on you,

- do not dive or jump in haste of the boat.        

Nature :

- Respect the fauna and flora (the Leyre is a river of the regional Natural Park of the Landes of Biscay protected),

- do not throw anything in the water or on the banks (if need we will provide you garbage bags),-do not fire,

- respect Other users of the river (fishermen, residents, other descenders...).     

Remember, the Leyre is part of the regional Natural Park of the Landes of Biscay, it is a place to preserve, to protect; Thus all forms of nuisance are to be avoided (this includes noise nuisances).        

Equipment to have (not supplied) :

- old closed shoes or slippers of river or surf or sandals,

- an outfit intended to dry quickly not holding too much water,

- a spare business,

- a wind cut,

- a hat or a cap as well as sunscreen for the sunniest days,

- a cord for glasses,

- a mosquito repellent,

- water and your picnic.
